The Polymer Business

RST's polymer business involves the processing of various types of polyester waste into granular forms that allows them to be combined with other polyester feedstocks and fed into a polymerization process.

We are a full-service operation offering the following services to the recycled polyester market:

• GRANULATION: Size reduction of lump, chunk and purgings utilizing a 200 HP Cumberland or a 150 HP Mitts & merrill granulator..
• DENSIFICATION: Increase bulk density of low density feedstocks such as fiber, film and edge trim utilizing a 125 HP Retech shredder and a 540 HP REG MAC tub densifier.
• BULK UNLOADING: Unloading of chip from bulk trucks or rail cars into gaylords or super sacks.
• SIEVING: Removal of fines and/or dirt from chip or ground polymer utilizing an Eriez Syncro-Sizer Screen Separator.
• REBOXING AND INSPECTION: Transfer of material from an original container to a container designated by the customer for their specific requirements. During this transfer the material can be inspected for contamination, degradation or undesirable particle size.
• DEMETALLIZATION: Removal of tramp metal utilizing rare earth magnets
